Race Report - Reepham 10K, Salford 10K, Bedford Half Marathon, Wissey Half Marathon & Waveney Autumn Triathlon

In a phenomenal finish to what was a strong August for Lowestoft Road Runners Chris Haylock ran the Reepham 10k on the 27th August finishing 5th overall in time of 38:14.

Starting what is looking to be a very busy month for members of the club, on Sunday 2nd September with several events taking place, Emma Garrard ran the City of Salford 10k in 56:39

Three members of Lowestoft Road Runners also partook in Bedford Half Marathon which for Aaron Smart and James Crisp was their first over the distance. They finished in respective times of 1:57:58 and 1:58:02. Lee Gooderham also continued his personal bests streak by finishing in 1:29:26.

Also running a half marathon was Jo Clark who ran the Wissey Half Marathon and finished in 2:36:53 even though she struggled for the last 5km.

As well as running some members of Lowestoft Road Runners also partake in triathlon events. 3rd September was also the Waveney Autumn Triathlon at Bungay pool. The event consisted of a 400m swim, 20km swim and a 3.2km run. Completing his first triathlon event in over a decade Carl Prewer was first to finish for the Road Runners, coming in fourth over all, and second in his age category with a time of 52:55. Winning his age group and 13th over all Tom Galley was next to finish in 56:02. Still within the hour was Jonathan Meadows in 21st with a time of 58:03. Competing in their first triathlon were Florence Ashdown and Steph Strowger finishing 3rd and 4th in their category with respective times of 1:10:32 and 1:11:06

On September the 9th the triathlon action continues with Lowestoft Road Runners members as 4 club members take on the Challenge Almere Ironman in Holland. More on that in the next report.
