In another action packed weekend Lowestoft Road Runners have once again provided some fantastic performances, results and personal bests as the team continues to go from strength to strength.
Paul Lyon roared to a 7th place finish in the Stowmarket Half marathon in less than ideal conditions. It was very windy around the course, described as surprisingly hilly for Suffolk and had an uphill finish too. He finished with a time of1:19:53. There were 402 finishers.
In an equally windy Brentwood Half Marathon Emma Garrard (pictured) completed her second half marathon race finishing in position 1631 of 2855 finishers in a time of 2:04:28, a new PB by 17 minutes 22 seconds even though she was suffering with calf pain from just 3 miles into the race, and it also having an uphill last mile.
In parkrun action thirteen members ran at the Gorleston event, with six members recording personal best times including a first place finish by Chris Haylock in 17:46. Also running were Tom Galley fourth 18:32 (PB) Tom Spalding in seventeenth getting his first sub 20 minute 5k finishing in 19:42 (PB), Jonathan Meadows eighteenth 19:45, Matthew Sutton nineteenth 19:55, Ben Hodds 29th 21:09 (PB), Ian Marshall 39th 21:47, Natasha Korovilas 46th (3rd lady) 22:06 (PB), Gary McDonald 49th 22:17, Mark Elflett 62nd 22:58, Steph Strowger 89th (14th lady) 24:25 (PB), Paul Lyon 90th 24:25 and Phillip Laurier 306th 61:15.
Seven members ran at the Lowestoft parkrun.
